Educational Workshop 6.5 Hours
 Achieving
Rresident-Centered Care and Culture Change
requires teamwork. It is recommended that
each facility train a Resident-Centered Care Team to implement the
Dementia Populations Gift of Purpose Programs social model for dementia
as well as administer and utilize data from the
Reality Comprehension Clock Test.
Social Model for Dementia
- The Dementia Populations
Gift of Purpose Programs
contains a brain stimulating
curriculum.
- Each exercise is designed to
MATCH the elderly memory
impaired person’s cognitive
skills and abilities.
- Dementia Populations Gift of
Purpose Programs are a
vital part of this social model
for dementia populations.
- Each student will learn the
components of Dementia
Populations Gift of Purpose
Programs and recognize how to
determine which level of
Dementia Populations Gift of
Purpose Programs is
appropriate for each memory
impaired participant.
- Each student will identify
how the brain stimulating
exercises are incorporated into
each participants care plan.

Recommended Team Members:
Administrator, Director of Nursing, MDS Nurse,
Restorative Nurse, Social Worker, Recreational
Therapist, Activity Professional, Marketing
Director. Additional staff may include
Rehab Director, Occupational Therapists,
Physical Therapists, Speech
Therapists, L P N ‘s, C N A’s, Dietary Director,
Environmental Director.
The workshop also
includes Reality Comprehension Clock Test
educational training. At the completion of
this workshop students will be certified to
administer the RCCT as well gain knowledge of
how to implement the Dementia Populations Gift
of Purpose Programs.
